Extension Care Guide
Hair extensions are an investment in your look and confidence — and with the right care, they’ll stay soft, shiny, and beautiful for weeks to come.
Because extensions go through extra processing, they are more prone to dryness and premature aging. Following these simple steps will help protect your hair and keep it looking fresh between appointments.

Daily Hydration is Key
Extensions do not receive natural oils from your scalp the same way your own hair does, so keeping them moisturized is essential.
-
Apply a lightweight oil or serum 1–2 times per day
-
Focus on the mid-lengths and ends
-
Avoid applying heavy products directly at the roots or attachment points
Keeping extensions hydrated will prevent dryness, breakage, and tangling.

Brushing & Detangling
Gentle brushing is one of the most important habits for extension longevity.
-
Brush your hair 2–3 times daily
-
Always use an extension-safe brush
-
Start at the ends and slowly work upward toward the roots
-
Be extra gentle around the bonds or wefts
This prevents unnecessary pulling and matting.

Leave-In Moisture Between Wash Days
On non-wash days, keep extensions soft and manageable with:
-
Sulfate-free leave-in conditioners
-
Lightweight hair oils
-
Hydrating sprays
Always concentrate on the ends where dryness happens most.

Nighttime Care
Protecting your extensions while you sleep helps prevent tangling and frizz.
-
Braid your hair loosely before bed
-
Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase
-
Avoid going to bed with wet hair
This keeps extensions smooth and reduces stress on the attachment points.
Weekly Deep Conditioning
To maintain softness and shine:
-
Deep condition once per week
-
Apply treatment from mid-length to ends
-
Avoid conditioner directly on the roots or extension bonds
Deep hydration keeps extensions looking fresh and healthy longer.

Swimming & Water Exposure
Chlorine, salt, and minerals can dry out extensions quickly, so extra care is needed.
Pool Water
-
Wear a swim cap when possible
-
Apply leave-in conditioner before swimming

Salt Water
-
Pre-wet extensions with clean water
-
Secure hair in a braid before entering the ocean
Fresh Water
-
Add a light layer of leave-in protection beforehand
After Swimming
-
Rinse extensions thoroughly with clean water
-
Follow up with a deep conditioning treatment
